SMT feeder classification

 

1. Belt feeder is the most commonly used type of chip mounter feeder.

2. Tray feeder, plate feeder

It can be divided into single-layer structure and multi-layer structure. The single-layer pallet feeder is directly installed on the feeder frame of the placement machine and occupies multiple slots. It is suitable for situations where there is not much pallet material; multi-layer pallet feeder The multi-layer automatic conveyor tray for equipment materials takes up little space and has a compact structure. It is suitable for situations where there is a large amount of pallet materials. Most of the components on the tray are various IC integrated circuit components.

 

When using pallet-type materials, care must be taken to keep exposed components at large tube corners to prevent damage to mechanical and electrical properties during transportation and use. When using TQFP, PQFP, BGA, TSOP and SSOPs components in the pallet, the pallet size can reach 150mmx330.2mm and height 25.4mm. Interestingly, the tray feeder can not only be used to pick up components for the placement machine, but can also be used as a dumping station for valuable components.

 

3. Tube feeder

Tube feeders usually use vibrating feeders to ensure that the components in the tube continue to enter the pick-up position of the patch head. Generally, PLCC and SOIC are fed in this way. The tubular feeder has the characteristics of good protection for component pins, poor stability and standardization, and low production efficiency.

 

4. Bulk material box feeder (vibration feeder)

The bulk box feeder, also known as the vibrating feeder, works by freely loading the components into the formed plastic box or bag, and then feeding the components in sequence using a vibrating feeder or feeding tube. SMT machine, this method is usually used for MELF and small outline semiconductor components. It is only suitable for non-polar rectangular and cylindrical components, but not for polar components.
